Hiking Montcabrer

One of the highest peak in the Valencian Community (1,390m), a beautiful route that includes the peaks of El Teix (1,264) and Montcabrer (1,390).  It is also called, “Senda dels Navaters” or “Ruta de les Caves” because of famous structure of ICE storage cellars. Some of them are still preserved and shows an excellent example of this popular architecture. They used this cellars to preserve the ice for food, medicines and other uses.

It is a circular trail, which means we will start and finish in the same place. The difficulty is medium to high: it’s 943 meters of elevation in 16 kms. It is also a long trek, you have to be physically fit and/or have previous hiking experience. We will go with an official mountain guide & coordinator. We will start the trail in Agres. The track begins with  steep ascent and repeats twice before arriving at the peak. Descent is not very difficult.
