About the Event

ALICANTE

On the sunny Mediterranean coast we will explore the streets of Alicante, a wonderful city rich in history and hidden treasures.

It is the second most populated municipality in the Valencian Community and offers a perfect combination of modernity and historical culture. Here you can also relax on beautiful sandy beaches, renowned throughout Spain.

Come with us to discover the ancient castle of Santa Barbara, a ubiquitous landmark for tourists and locals alike. The castle overlooks the Gulf of Alicante at 166 m high and is the largest medieval fortress in Spain dating back to 1300. Climbing up to the castle you can not miss the Santa Cruz district, one of the most characteristic neighborhoods of the city. Here you will get lost in the narrow streets and you will not stop taking pictures of the beautiful colorful and unique houses intertwined with each other.

In addition to the charming old town, you can visit the beautiful Basilica of Santa Maria, built over a former Moorish mosque, and the Renaissance Church of San Nicolas with the nearby Monastery of Santa Faz. Here you will find the chapel judged to be the most beautiful in the country in baroque style and the “Veil of the Veronica”, an ancient sacred relic.

At the end you have to stroll along the famous “street of mushrooms”, to transform yourself into Alice in Wonderland, and also along the promenade of the Esplanade, which will enchant you with its beauty and its palm trees.

BENIDORM

Let yourself be captivated by the city known as “The New York of the Mediterranean” which boasts an impressive number of skyscrapers, making it the second most skyscraper city in Spain, after Madrid. Benidorm combines the charm of a modern metropolis with the tranquillity of golden beaches and crystal clear sea water. Not to be missed are the old town, with its churches, squares and characteristic streets, the famous Balcón del Mediterráneo, an emblematic place to enjoy a panoramic view of the sea and the city, the Gran Hotel Bali, the highest hotel in Europe, and the ancient castle that stands on a hill as a protector of the city.
