Altea & Fuentes del Algar (with canyonning)

Altea
As you stroll through Altea’s cobbled streets, you’ll be enchanted by its whitewashed houses, colorful facades and flower-filled balconies. The historic center, also known as “Casco Antiguo”, is a real gem with its narrow, winding streets, peaceful squares and local craft stores. You can stroll through art galleries, artists’ studios and souvenir stores, discovering the town’s rich artistic heritage.
Altea’s peaceful, tranquil atmosphere makes it a popular destination for artists, writers and nature lovers. The surrounding mountains offer superb hiking trails with breathtaking panoramic views. Be sure to visit the parish church of Nuestra Señora del Consuelo, with its famous blue and white dome, which has become the town’s emblem.

Fuentes del Algar
The place is a circuit of 1.5 km in length along the course of the Algar River (“cave” in Arabic) with plenty of the spectacular waterfalls; the numerous springs that sprout from the rock; the “tolls” (pools of water) where you can take refreshing baths of pure and crystalline waters, formerly considered a “source of health”.

Almost 2 hours from Valencia and only 15 km from Benidorm, we find the Fuentes de Algar. Since the weather is getting hot, its the best time to go to this cold-water river!
Swimming, diving, jumping off a cliff… or maybe you would rather take the CANYONING option and enjoy natural water slide, jumps, three rappelling of 20 mts waterfalls, many unique natural pools.

Canyoning in Fuentes del Algar

Dare to descend one of the best aquatic ravines in the Valencian Community, with natural water slides, jumps, three rappelling descents, many unique pools… Canyoning  ends with a 20-meters rappelling down an impressive waterfall.
It is only 4kms from Fuentes del algar and after the activity (3 hours) you can go to Fuentes del algar and enjoy the rest of the day.
